Flow Blade

Flow Blade is a martial arts system designed to improve people's fitness, using movement principles and weapons with self-defence application.

The footwork and techniques in Flow Blade have a strong focus on multiple attacker scenarios, and being proficient in a number of different weapons using similar core techniques.

The Flow Blade System uses and adapts some techniques from within Pekiti-Tirsia Kali (PTK), Filipino Martial Arts (FMA), Muay Thai and Mixed Martial Arts (MMA), with additional techniques, forms and weapons.

Fitness and Weapons Training

Instead of training doing repetitive movements many times per week, with little gain in skill, such as going to gym and performing sets and repetitions, you can develop fitness and strength and learn weapons at the same time, with techniques that have self defence application.

While you develop fitness you're constantly gaining skill, learning and building various attributes (e.g strength, speed, coordination, balance) that are useful in a range of physical activities.

We teach our own system called Flow Blade.

Flow Blade is a combination of movement principles, efficient body mechanics, fluid movement between techniques based around multiple opponent scenarios.

The Flow Blade System includes:

  • Movement Principles
  • Footwork (multiple attackers)
  • Flow Concepts
  • Impact Weapons (stick, baton, etc.)
  • Blades / Edged Weapon Concepts
  • Flexible Weapons (nunchuka, etc.)
  • Double Weapons (stick, baton, nunchuka)
  • Empty Hand (strikes, kicks, knees, elbows)
  • An Adapted Form of the PTK Abecedario
  • Ground Situations (dealing with situations where you are on the ground)

Flow Blade System

Designed for people interested in fitness, developing attributes useful in any movement art, martial art or dancing, people interested in self-defence (especially for situations with multiple attackers), and visual performances.

The training is suitable for martial artists, performers, stunt people, and anyone who wants to add to their fitness training.

Double weapons training has the benefit of allowing strikes to multiple targets or attackers within a fraction of a second. It also allows for simultaneous blocking and striking as one weapon blocks and the other strikes.

Anyone who is interested in a rapid and efficient introduction into movement with weapons, especially applicable to general self-defence, or even fitness training, can benefit from training with us.
